The perfect date
4.6m views and counting
Welcome to your weekly dose of INSPO ✨
This week I’ve found a 0.22s video ad I think you’ll love and want to recreate immediately. But make sure you read through the breakdown before you give it a go, there’s a few things you’ve just got to get right for this to work.
Let’s get into it…
Ad breakdown
This wasn’t a paid social ad BUT it’s an ad nonetheless, and it’s brilliant.
A lot brands just want to tell people what they do and how great they are.
But a lot of them forget this one simple tactic…
Show don’t tell.
This ad for Google Gemini has amassed over 4.6 million views.
And it works for 2 reasons:
👉 It shows the product solving a real problem (planning a date)
👉 They let the creator stick to his own style (it feels genuine)
The story starts with the problem and has you hooked immediately.
It then quickly highlights how easy and fast Gemini is to use.
You then see the great results.
In just 0.22 seconds, we’ve watched Gemini ‘save the day’ and want to give it a go ourselves.
Mission accomplished.
This is creative genius and it’s not easy.
Do you think you’re up for the challenge?
How to make this format work for your brand
For this type of creative to work, you need to start at the beginning, in strategy. It’s not just about coming up with something ‘fun’ it’s making sure your ad is rooted in insight so it will resonate with your target audience. Here’s what to do…
🪩 Identify group of people you want to reach and find a single, obvious problem they all have regularly, or have had in the past
🪩 Describe the type of creator they’d take advice from on this specific problem
🪩 Write a script narrative in bullet points following this structure: problem > solution > how it works > benefits > desired outcome
🪩 Find a creator who you feel can deliver the content in their own style and let them run with it
Give this a go and let me know what happens!
Happy ad creating,
