Welcome to your weekly dose of INSPO. It’s never been easier to whip up ads for paid social, so how do you make sure yours are the ones that work? The answer: good strategy. And that’s what you’ll learn from this newsletter. Every week we’ll breakdown an ad, explain why I think it works/doesn’t work and help you understand how to use the format effectively for your own brand.
Ad breakdown
Looking for a simple way to test some native style ads?
Start here 👇
This was an organic story from a creator I follow on Instagram.
It grabbed my attention because it’s so simple.
I actually thought it was an ad to start with.
And it can easily be turned into an ad, which is why I’m sharing it with you.
This format can be used as a native twist on the branded 'annotated product' format which I’ve seen work well for multiple brands/products.
It works because…
👉 It’s simple and the product is obvious
👉 The surroundings depict a certain lifestyle that will connect with a specific audience
👉 It’s social proof — ‘someone else like me is using this product’
How to make this format work for your brand
A few suggestions/versions of this you could try
🪩 Annotate just your product in a relatable scene for a specific audience group
🪩 Annotate with features or benefits depending on the angle
🪩 Add a headline that calls out a specific desire e.g. sleep better
🪩 Add a headline that grabs the attention of a specific audience e.g. 5am club morning routine
🪩 Create an ad that looks like you've reshared this post on your brand account
Give this format a go and let me know what happens!
Happy ad creating,
