Simple. Effective.
An easy one for you...
Welcome to your weekly dose of INSPO ✨
This week I’ve got a simple native style ad that’s quick to put together AND can be easily turned into a video.
Let’s get into it…
Ad breakdown
This was an organic Instagram story I took a screenshot of a few months back.
It grabbed my attention and made me want to read the detailed review.
I thought it could work well as an ad…
And it did!
I’ve tested this with a few brands now and so far, it’s worked every time.
Why?
My theory is…
👉 It feels authentic, even when there’s a CTA button at the bottom, the text over a native image makes you want to pause the ad and read every word.
👉 The long text is hard to skip past, if the image piques your interest you’re likely to want to read a bit more about what you’ve seen but the copy is hard to read quickly, it forces you to slow down, in a good way.
👉 The long copy feels less like an ad and more like an unfiltered review which helps to build trust.
I’d also test this with video so you have the opportunity to show multiple angles of your product, especially if you have a product that’s a little harder to show off in a single image.
How to make this format work for your brand
Before you grab three random reviews and throw them over any old images, here’s how to break down the process and turn this into a proper test:
🪩 Come up with 3 messaging angles that may resonate with your audience
🪩 Write some long-form copy that reflects each of them (I typically find actual reviews that do this for me and give me real customer language)
🪩 Choose an image that reflects the messaging angle and that shows your product in its very best light
Give this a go and let me know what happens!
Happy ad creating,
